Jon met Eric by chance at a music store in early 1999, looking for advice on buying a synth for a new band he was joining. A guitarist by trade who is a self-taught keyboardist, Jon's band was electro-punk that resembled Mindless Self Indulgence. When they broke up, and a few auditions for more industrial bands didn't pan out, Jon ended up coming to Interface itself as live keyboardist. He has since taken over the guitar duties from Evan after his departure.

While Eric handles much of the songwriting and production duties of the band, Jon has been the one that has put together the various samples from outside sources that appear in songs, especially on Beyond Humanity.
